We take on bespoke research and content projects for b2b technology clients, with a focus on strategic marketing for compute and platform companies.
Sharif Sakr is a London-based researcher, writer, and advisor with an unusual career arc: from BBC newsroom to the chip industry, from Oxford's business school to the boardroom of a quant trading firm.
He spent eight years as a broadcast journalist at BBC News, where he launched and presented The Technology of Business — a self-originated weekly international technology report for BBC World TV — before moving into specialist technology journalism at Engadget, where he built the publication's European editorial team and covered the semiconductor industry as a dedicated beat.
Since leaving journalism, Sharif has worked at the intersection of technology, marketing and education. He was a founding team member at GameBench, a compute benchmarking company whose clients have included EA, Scopely, Ubisoft as well as major mobile device and chip companies.
Sharif then went on to lead two VC mutual funds as Managing Partner, focused on investing in AI, fintech and digital assets infrastructure – including tokenised real-world assets and exchanges where those assets can be traded
In addition to taking on marketing projects through 28 Knots Ltd, Sharif now focuses on his own investments in AI and quant trading, particularly as VP of Strategic Marketing at quant trading firm T-Digital. He has also been an Industry Advisor at Oxford's Saïd Business School since 2017, coaching MBA students in digital product management and go-to-market strategy.
Sharif holds a BA (Hons) in Human Sciences from St. John's College, Oxford.
